I studied art history and connoisseurship with Prof. James Cahill at the University of California, Berkeley. I continued my studies of connoisseurship with the late C. C. Wang in New York. During my tenure as Director of the Chinese Painting department of Sotheby’s, I had an opportunity to view thousands of Chinese paintings in public and private collections all over the world. I have continued to investigate all aspects of Chinese art through my association with Kaikodo, a prestigious gallery of Asian Art in New York. As an American of Chinese descent, I try to combine the best aspects of Eastern and Western scholarship to create a holistic, multi-dimensional approach to the study of Chinese painting.
